Aaron Thomason

Aaron (he/him) is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 13 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and first responders. He specializes in anxiety, trauma, family dynamics, crises, and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process and heal from distressing experiences. Blending an integrative therapeutic approach with a calm, grounded presence, Aaron tailors his methods to each client’s unique needs, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can build trust, gain insight, and create lasting change.

Aaron Says…

I work to facilitate a calm, supportive, and safe space where you feel heard and understood. We begin by addressing any physical distress through somatic interventions so you can feel grounded before we explore the mental and emotional work. This helps you reconnect with your body and mind in a way that fosters clarity, resilience, and meaningful healing. Throughout our time together, I’ll meet you where you are, offering practical tools and steady support to help you move forward with confidence and lasting change.

As a therapist with 15 years of experience, I lean heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and EMDR. I integrate somatic treatment interventions to address both the mental and physical symptoms connected to anxiety, depression, and unprocessed trauma. I also have training in working with first responders and the LGBTQIA+ community, acknowledging the unique challenges these populations often face.

I believe that each of us holds an inherent capacity for meaningful change. Transforming your mental health can be challenging, but it is never beyond reach. The process is both courageous and empowering — and when sustained, it opens the door to a life filled with purpose, clarity, and joy.”

Aaron's Modalities

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thought and behavior patterns. It supports practical skills for managing emotions, challenges, and everyday stress.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-informed CBT recognizes the impact of trauma and prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment. It supports healing through compassionate, respectful, and collaborative practices.

EMDR

EMDR is a therapy that helps the brain process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences. It reduces emotional intensity by supporting the mind’s natural ability to reprocess memories and restore balance.

Somatic Interventions

Somatic interventions focus on the mind–body connection to support healing and regulation. They help individuals release stored stress, build body awareness, and restore balance.

Integrative Psychotherapy

Integrative psychotherapy blends multiple therapeutic approaches to meet each individual’s unique needs. It supports whole-person healing by addressing emotional, cognitive, and somatic experiences.

Mindfulness-Based Techniques

Mindfulness-based techniques cultivate present-moment awareness and emotional regulation. They support stress reduction, clarity, and a more grounded response to life’s challenges.
